A beautifully distressed, historical painting of Hotel de la Marine and Hotel de Crillon in 19th century Paris. This is one of numerous commissions by the Dutch ambassador of the day. Soft pastel tones and fine detail grace this neoclassical work by the master painter Josephus Agustus Knip, who was known as a drawing instructor to Napoleon III. Offered in two sizes, on canvas and on paper under glass.
